About Me

Hello Stalkers- welcome to the page where you'll probably learn less about me than you'd probably expect given the "About Me" title, and my tendency to ramble.

As much as I refuse to come to terms with it, this Fall I'll be starting my fourth and final year at the University of Virginia. I'm a Psychology major, and though a few of my classes have caused me to despise statistics, overall I'm satisfied with my choice of major. However when it comes to post-graduation plans, I continue to draw an ever-more-distressing blank...

Studying abroad is hugely popular among UVA students, and the University pushes it pretty hard. This Summer being my final chance to study abroad (I dare not miss my last Fall semester, when our football team will no doubt play their way to the BCS Championship), I decided to go for broke and commit to doing SAS. Even though I'd love to be able to spend a long period of time in one place in order to become more assimilated with the local culture, you really can't beat the opportunities that SAS gives you.

One of my passions is photography, and apart from the obvious primary goals of this experience (getting class credits, getting a better global perspective, meeting people from all over), I intend to take a lot of photos. Looking back at pictures I took on previous out-of-the-country experiences, I regret sticking to the "obvious" photo opportunities so often. I'm going to push myself to interact with my surroundings and to be more actively observant of the new environments I'll be exploring, capturing moments that are (at least a little bit) unique to me and my experience. Some sort of theme will hopefully present itself, serving as a focus point for each port rather than subject matter that's all over the place and not cohesive.

I'll add more to this once I figure out more about me.

Almost forgot to shamelessly plug my humble photo sites. Enjoy!
